Retirement Planning for the Home Based Business Owner

 Conventional thoughts and ideas of planning for retirement are no longer valid.  In today's world one has to care for themselves.  We know that many reaching those so called 'Golden' years which used to be dedicated to retirement are finding either they cannot afford to retire or they have no intention of retiring in a conventional manner.

Today, many seniors want to keep active and benefit for their long time service in their chosen careers.  Others want to do something completely new.  For many years the 'older' worker had a choice between McDonald's and Walmart.  That simply isn't all there is. 

I've been able to help several men of retirement age (I'm also of retirement age) start up brand new carpet cleaning and house painting businesses.  These businesses offer moderate physical excercise to help an individual keep fit.  Others are sharing their real life and work experience with others.  This also can be profitable and easily suppliment conventional retirement income.

Personally speaking, I still operate my painting business and carpet cleaning business on a part time basis.  It provides me with great exercise and a decent income.  So never feel you are too old to try something new.

Hint: Guess who take their time doing the work and still command the higher pay per job?
