What is the Best Part Time Job?

 Without a doubt, many families find themselves in need of additional income today for many reasons.  There are more single family parents raising families and an increasing number of people being laid off from long time employment.  If that isn't enough, there is the ever increasing cost of living which encourages more people then ever before to look for a part time job. 

The question immediately comes to mind: What is the best part time job?  Obviously this is a purely subjective question but there are certain characteristics that would apply to a part time job or income source that would apply to most people.

If you are inclined to find a part time job, then you'll probably take into consideration your work schedule first.  For most people, their best part time job would be one they could work around their present schedules which in most cases would be nights and weekends.  There are many who due to already long work days or family responsibilities will focus on a part time weekend job.

Most would also consider the distance they would have to travel to this job.  Of course the best case would be a part time work from home job.  In many cases this is possible with the many opportunities presented by the internet.  The problem is that many of the so-called work at home deals are more likely scams then real jobs.

So most people would agree that the best part time job would be one which can be worked at night and weekends and from our homes.  It always seemed odd to me that people would spend much time and energy looking for what they would consider the best part time job when it might be a better idea to start their own business instead.

There are many types of businesses that can be operated from one's home with little problem.  The Cleaning, Carpet Cleaning, and house painting businesses are just a few that are fairly easy to start and can easily be worked on a part time basis.  In most cases, they can be developed into full time employment with the proper business planning and effort.

But it would be safe to say that the best part time job is a job in which we work for ourselves.
